Innovation and Early Careers Skills Exchange Pilot

  • Who Can Apply?

    • Applicants must have skills and experience in specific job levels.

    • Innovation stream applicants need to show they contribute to innovation.

    • No age limit for the Innovation stream.

    • Must be a UK citizen and financially stable.

  • Roles of Employers

    • Australian employers must provide a job offer letter.

    • Information needed in the letter includes applicant and employer details.

  • Information Collection

    • DFAT collects information from applicants, UK government, and employers.

    • Providing accurate information is crucial for application processing.

  • Use of Information

    • Information is used to manage the program effectively.

    • Personal information is shared to ensure the program runs smoothly.

  • Conflicts of Interest

    • Applicants must declare any conflicts of interest.

    • Immediate disclosure is required if a conflict arises during the process.

  • Application Process

    • Applications are submitted online through the DFAT website.

    • Applications are assessed based on eligibility and merit criteria.

  • Outcome Notification

    • Successful applicants receive a support letter, while unsuccessful ones receive an outcome letter via email.

The application round closes at 23:59 GMT on 12 February 2024.

Additional application rounds may open in 2023-24 at DFAT’s discretion, with closing dates subject to application submission rates.

The pathway may close earlier if submission rates are high or at DFAT’s discretion.

A total of 1000 visas will be available under IECSEP in the first year of operation (8 June 2023 to 7 June 2024).

In the second year of operation (8 June 2024 to 7 June 2025), a total of 2000 visas will be available under IECSEP.

The allocation of places between the Early Careers and Innovation streams will be determined by DFAT based on application demand for each stream.
