The Department of Home Affairs has a Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO). This allows visa holders and other organisations to check visa statuses and conditions.
VEVO can only provide information about people who have their details available in the Department’s systems. A person may not have a searchable record if they arrived to Australia before 1990 and have not travelled since.
VEVO checks are more complicated for New Zealand citizens to apply for because of the unique nature of our visa status.
This is a free service that we provide to New Zealand citizens and their immediate family members. We can access the VEVO portal to check on your behalf or you can contact the Department of Home Affairs for assistance.
You will need your passport details and agree to the Department of Home Affairs’ Privacy and Security statements and complete the form below.
Note: This is currently a FREE service to assist New Zealand citizens with knowing their visa status. However, within only a few days of being released we are already getting bombarded with visa and citizenship questions. Please note: No questions will not be responded to due to the complex nature of immigration law and the time it takes to respond.
